Fishing on Lake Victoria and Murchison Falls
Lake Victoria and Murchison Falls offer not only some of the most beautiful scenery in Uganda, but also amazing fishing possibilities. Here one will find the Nile Perch with a record catch that was120Kgs, as well as fresh water Tilaphia and ferocious Catfish.
DAY 1: Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to the Sheraton Kampala Hotel for an overnight stay.
DAY 2: Enjoy a brief morning tour of the city, then depart for Masaka to catch the ferry to Kalangala Island. Stay overnight at the Islands Club.
DAY 3: Head out with a picnic lunch and embark upon a full day of fishing. The popular catch here is the Nile Perch, noted for a record catch of 120 kg., and the tasty Tilapia. Dine and stay overnight at the club.
DAY 4: Enjoy another full day of fishing. Return to the club again for dinner and a night’s sleep.
DAY 5: Depart early in the morning to catch a ferry to the main land. Proceed straight to Murchison Falls National Park with a lunch stop-over at Masindi. Enjoy a brief visit at the top of the falls, then proceed to Paraa Safari Lodge arriving in time for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6: After breakfast, take a boat to foot of the falls where there are a number of pools. This is your first chance to catch a monster at Murchison. Pass all day fishing on the Nile, where common species include the Nile Perch, Tilapia and the Cat Fish. Dine and stay at the lodge.
DAY 7: Embark upon another all day fishing expedition on the Nile. Again dine and stay at the lodge.
DAY 8: Depart early in the morning for a game drive, then return to the lodge for breakfast. Afterwards depart for Kampala arriving in the late afternoon. Transfer late in the evening to Entebbe for flight connections.
